About The Position
This position is for a Head Coach for Volleyball for the 2026-2027 school year at Vero Beach Middle School. The role involves coaching and requires specific athletic coaching certifications. Requirements
- Submit an application for an Athletic Coaching Certification with the Florida Department of Education.
- Apply to become an Athletic Coach through the district's website.
- Obtain either a Three-Year or Five-Year Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate if not holding a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
- For the Three-Year Certificate: Submit application and $75.00 fee, be approved to volunteer, and complete fingerprinting.
- For the Five-Year Certificate: Submit application and $75.00 fee, meet specialization requirements (3 semester hours in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries/drug use, 3 semester hours in coaching theory, 3 semester hours in theory and practice of coaching a specific sport), hold a valid CPR certificate (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), and hold First Aid certification including AED training.
- For the Five-Year Certificate: Be approved for employment and complete fingerprinting (FDLE/FBI) with results no older than one year.
