About The Position

This position is for a Head Coach, Tennis for the 2026-2027 season at Vero Beach High School. The role involves coaching the tennis team and requires specific athletic coaching certifications. Requirements

  • Submit an application for an Athletic Coaching Certification with the Florida Department of Education.
  • Apply to become an Athletic Coach through the district's website.
  • Complete orientation, including fingerprinting/workplace screening ($118.00 fee).
  • Obtain either a Three-Year or Five-Year Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate if not holding a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
  • For the Three-Year Certificate: Submit application and $75.00 fee, be approved to volunteer, and complete fingerprinting.
  • For the Five-Year Certificate: Submit application and $75.00 fee, meet specialization requirements (3 semester hours in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, 3 semester hours in coaching theory, 3 semester hours in theory and practice of coaching a specific sport), possess a valid CPR certificate (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), and have First Aid certification including AED training.
  • For the Five-Year Certificate: Be approved for employment and have completed fingerprinting (FDLE/FBI) within the last year.

Nice To Haves

  • Hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
