The Head Coach for Softball is responsible for effectively operating all aspects of an NCAA Division III softball program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting academically qualified and athletically talented high school athletes, leading and managing the student-athletes and assistant coach, organizing and running practices, creating and sustaining an environment that supports the Tufts mission, building a competitive schedule, operating the program within budgetary limits, managing administrative tasks effectively, and actively participating in alumni engagement and fundraising activities. Direct all aspects of a comprehensive NCAA Division III varsity softball program providing a transformational student-athlete experience, which complements the Tufts University mission. Educate and effectively coach student-athletes. Identify, evaluate and successfully recruit highly-selective student-athletes within the framework and guidelines of University and conference policies and procedures. Supervise and direct assistant coach(es), ensuring adherence to all association, conference and university rules by student-athletes and support staff. Conduct team and program fund-raising and external/alumni relations as needed. Complete secondary department duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
