About The Position

The Head Coach for Men's & Women's Golf at Texas A&M University - Victoria is responsible for developing, managing, and coaching the university’s men’s and women’s golf teams. This role involves a wide range of duties from identifying and recruiting academically successful student-athletes and planning practice sessions to scheduling tournaments, representing the Athletics Department at various professional, civic, charity, and alumni events. The coach is also tasked with participating in external activities, public relations, fundraising, and outreach programs, while ensuring compliance with all university, Red River Athletic Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations. Additionally, the position serves as a leader in the NAIA Champions of Character program, monitors the academic progress of student-athletes, maintains equipment inventory, and supervises an assistant golf coach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum (2) years college coaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit student-athletes who have demonstrated ability to be academically successful while competing in intercollegiate athletics
  • Plan and organize practice sessions
  • Schedules tournaments and/or matches
  • Represents the Athletics Department in professional, civic, charity, and alumni events
  • Participates in other external activities, public relations campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and outreach programs
  • Ensures compliance with all university, Red River Athletic Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations
  • Serves as a leader in the NAIA Champions of Character program

  • Maintains updated inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Supervises assistant golf coach
