About The Position

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking a Head Coach for the Men's & Women's Diving Programs. This role also serves as the Assistant Coach for the Men's & Women's Swimming teams and reports to the Head Coach, Men's Swimming & Diving and the Head Coach, Women's Swimming & Diving. The position involves coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties such as coordinating training, team travel, and compliance information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One to three years coaching experience at the club, high school or college level and/or collegiate swimming and diving experience.
  • Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League Rules.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.
  • Excellent sport specific technical, tactical and strategic knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
  • Basic proficiency in excel, word, internet & email capabilities.
  • Commitment to the student-athlete, passion for the game and ability to coach & motivate.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background and DMV check satisfactory to Brown University.
  • Successful completion of a background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown.

Nice To Haves

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • Social media experience.
  • Familiarity with FrontRush and Teamworks, or similar, preferred.
  • Prior experience with video editing software, helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and recruiting for the Men's & Women's Diving Programs.
  • Serving as Assistant Coach for the Men's & Women's Swimming teams.
  • Coordinating training.
  • Coordinating team travel.
  • Completing compliance information.
  • Demonstrating exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Reporting any rules violations to the compliance office and appropriate parties.
  • Receiving annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting.
  • Maintaining current AED/CPR and First Aid certification.
