About The Position

The Head Coach of Men’s Volleyball, Club is responsible for managing the daily operations of the club sport and the recruitment of student-athletes. Duties also include fundraising, calendering facilities, maintaining of budgets and over-all teaching and supervision of athletes. This position will have campus security authority (CSA) related responsibilities under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, which is a federal law requiring disclosure of information about crimes on and around campus. The coach will foster an educational and developmentally enriching environment for student-athletes to thrive and grow, and will work with administrators to determine student-athlete roster size limits. They will also work with the athletic training staff on the health and safety needs of student athletes. The role involves managing and communicating a yearlong calendar, developing daily practice plans, and overseeing a schedule, including safe and responsible travel to and from away competitions. The coach will develop and manage an annual budget and oversee expenditures, manage and maintain the program facility, and collaborate with university units to foster athletic, academic, emotional, physical, and social growth. This includes working with financial aid, medical services, academic support, judicial affairs, psychological services, student-athletes services, international programs, and compliance. The position is also a Mandatory Campus Security Authority and Title IX Mandatory Reporter. The coach will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in coaching the assigned sport at the collegiate or high school levels is required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Technical expertise in the assigned sport.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification Required
