About The Position

Friends University is seeking to fill the Head Coach Men’s Basketball position in Wichita Kansas. The Head Coach develops and directs strategy for recruiting, counseling and coaching student athletes in the men’s basketball program. Requirements

  • Two years coaching at either high school or college level required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years as a college assistant or head coach preferred.
  • Experience in academic discipline or higher education desired.
  • Two years of recruiting background desired.
  • Master’s preferred.
  • Computer proficiency is desired (Microsoft Office preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs strategy for recruiting, counseling and coaching student athletes in the men’s basketball program.
  • Ability to recruit off campus.
  • Understanding of the game of basketball.
  • Ability to lead and supervise players and coaches.
  • Ability to get along with a wide variety of people in various situations.
