About The Position

The Head Coach for Girls Volleyball at Raymond S. Kellis High School is responsible for leading the volleyball program. This includes ensuring players have knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport. The coach must also establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, and service projects. Adherence to rules set by the AIA and Peoria Unified School District is mandatory. The position requires the use of online platforms for specific sports and may involve travel for competitions.

Requirements

  • Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
  • Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
  • An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion of a sport-specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
  • Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport to be coached.
  • Skill in communicating with all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA and Peoria Unified School District.
  • Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Attend mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
  • Drive students to and from competitions if required.
