Head Coach - Boys Wrestling
About The Position
The Head Coach - Boys Wrestling position is a seasonal coaching role at Kent-Meridian High School. The salary is based on the 2026-2027 High School Coaches Salary Schedule and placement is determined by years of coaching experience. Applicants must meet district and WIAA requirements, including a valid background check, and be at least 21 years of age. The position requires adherence to various training and certification requirements, including first aid, CPR, concussion management, sudden cardiac arrest awareness, and coaching principles. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid background check
- Must have a valid first aid card
- Must have a valid CPR card
- Must meet district and WIAA requirements
- Must have successfully completed Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training
- Must have successfully completed Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training
- Must have successfully completed Coaching Principles training, or NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or attended WIAA Coaches School (or approved alternative) before the beginning of the third year of coaching
Responsibilities
- Coach boys wrestling
- Meet district and WIAA requirements
- Complete KSD online application process including professional reference forms
- Annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic
- Annually complete the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached
- Annually complete KSD Vector Training requirements prior to the beginning of the sports season
- Successfully complete Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training (renewed every three years)
- Successfully complete Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (renewed every three years)
- Complete a school district-approved Coaching Principles training, or NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or attend WIAA Coaches School (or approved alternative) before the beginning of the third year of coaching, and repeat every three years
- Read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual if hired
