About The Position

Highland High School is seeking a passionate and committed individual to serve as the Head Coach for the Boys Tennis program. This position is essential to the continued growth and success of the boys tennis program and plays a critical role in promoting athletic excellence, personal development, sportsmanship, and school pride.

Requirements

• NFHS certifications must be uploaded in Aktivate (formerly Register My Athlete).
• First Aid/CPR training will be provided by the school and must be completed annually.
• SLCSD requirements must be completed through District systems.
• UHSAA requirements must be completed annually prior to the start of each sport season.
• Coaching Endorsement (PE/Coaching Degree or NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification
• NFHS Concussion in Sport
• NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
• NFHS Bullying, Hazing, and Inappropriate Behaviors
• Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
• Annual Coaching Clinic (must be completed prior to the start of each sport season)
• Utah Educator Professional Standards (Read and E-sign)
• SLCSD Annual Athletic Coach Training & Coaching Agreement
• SLCSD Vector Trainings, including FERPA/Student Privacy training

Nice To Haves

• Previous high school tennis experience is preferred but not required
• Experience working with high school students in an athletic or mentorship capacity
• Demonstrated ability to develop athletes at various skill levels
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Benefits

• Coaching stipends are paid after the completion of the season and only after all required trainings and employment requirements have been successfully completed.
• Aktivate training costs may be reimbursed through the school.
• First Aid/CPR training will be provided by the school.
