About The Position

The Head Coach (Boys Lacrosse) is responsible for helping each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. This role involves coaching individual participants, planning practice schedules, and working with the athletics director on scheduling contests. The coach also recommends equipment purchases, maintains records, ensures facility safety, establishes performance criteria, enforces sportsmanlike conduct, and supervises assistant coaches.

Requirements

Ability to coach individual participants in sport-specific skills.
Ability to plan and schedule regular practice programs.
Ability to work with athletics director in scheduling contests.
Ability to recommend equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
Ability to maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and paperwork.
Ability to oversee safety conditions of facilities.
Ability to establish performance criteria.
Ability to enforce disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior.
Ability to supervise assistant coaches.

Responsibilities

Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
Works closely with the athletics director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Establishes performance criteria for his sport.
Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Supervises assistant coaches in his sport.
Perform other duties as assigned.
