About The Position

This is a Head Coach position for Boys Baseball at Copperwood Elementary. The role involves leading the team, ensuring adherence to rules, and fostering a positive team environment. The position is a stipend-based role and is open until filled.

Requirements

• Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Fundamentals of Coaching" course, or approved equivalent (AIA Rule 17.1).
• Certificate verifying completion of the NFHS online "Concussion in Sports � What You Need to Know" course (AIA Rule 17.1).
• An Arizona Teaching Certificate OR an Arizona Coaching Certificate OR a certificate verifying completion sport specific course (AIA Rule 17.1.2).
• Current Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Knowledge of essential skills, techniques, rules, and safety concerns for the sport to be coached.
• Skill in communicating with all stakeholders.
• Knowledge necessary to adhere to rules set out by AIA (www.aiaonline.org) and Peoria Unified School District #11.
• Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license as driving students to and from competitions may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the boys' baseball team.
• Ensure adherence to rules set by AIA and Peoria Unified School District.
• Attend mandatory school district and AIA meetings.
• Utilize online platforms required for specific sports like MaxPreps, HUDL, and others.
• Establish a sense of camaraderie among players through teambuilding, fundraising, and service projects.
