About The Position

Come join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Assisted and Independent Living community sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. We are a place of life, a place of caring, and more importantly, a true home for our residents. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike. We are seeking to fill the position of Head Chef.

Requirements

  • Institutional chef experience required.
  • Servesafe Certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes.
  • Organizational skills and being able to work independently required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervisor Kitchen staff in cooperation with Director of Dietary/Executive Chef.
  • Handle and prepare food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
  • Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
  • Meet time schedules for serving of meals and snacks.
  • Ensure food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines.
  • Supervise and set up steam table for Main Dining Room and trayline meal service to facilitate organized, speedy and sanitary delivery of meals.
  • Check outgoing food for proper amounts, types and quality of food.
  • Properly care for dietary equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, Department of Public Health and Board of Health Standards.
