The Head Cashier provides SMART customer service, assists customers with locating and selecting merchandise, and answers customer and employee questions knowledgeably and promptly. This role involves communicating information about stock, special orders, and program benefits. The Head Cashier also coaches and trains associates, processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds, and prepares the register area for shifts. Responsibilities include inspecting returned merchandise, entering customer orders, verifying receipts, and looking up product information and competitor prices. The role also involves recording store use items, completing cash counting and reconciliation, monitoring cash and recycler levels, and detecting signs of shoplifting and security risks. Additionally, the Head Cashier ensures compliance with housekeeping standards, maintains a safe and secure work environment, and operates store equipment as needed. Other duties may be assigned.
