About The Position
City Market Co-Op is seeking a Head Cashier to support Front End operations and the work of cashiers and baggers to ensure the highest standard of prompt, friendly, and efficient customer service to the City Market customer. This role is for an individual interested in local food systems, providing a wide variety of local, organic, and conventional products at a fair price to the community, and playing an active role in the community-owned business's vibrant local food system.
Requirements
- One year of retail or supervisory experience OR 18 months of customer service experience required.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of natural and conventional foods and the food industry helpful.
Responsibilities
- Support effective and efficient department operations with Front End Management.
- Assist with training and assigning tasks to cashiers and baggers.
- Interact with and help customers, including answering questions and assisting with member applications.
- Provide support to customers and staff as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas.
- Ensure compliance with established City Market procedures and practices regarding operations, sales, safety, and security.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
