About The Position

St. Martin's Episcopal School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Soccer Coach who is passionate about helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. Through skill development, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, the coach will create a positive and competitive environment where every athlete is encouraged to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate understands that coaching is about more than the game; it is an opportunity to build confidence, discipline, resilience, and character in young people. We are looking for a strong communicator and positive role model who enjoys working with student-athletes and is committed to helping them succeed as players, teammates, and individuals. The soccer season is expected to run from approximately October 27, 2026, through February 27, 2027. The Director of Soccer will communicate the final schedule and exact start dates.

Requirements

  • Experience working with youth, middle school, or high school students
  • Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, player development, and effective team management
  • A demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and build meaningful relationships with student-athletes
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • A genuine commitment to creating a positive athletic experience grounded in teamwork and sportsmanship
  • The ability to serve as a positive role model who represents the mission and values of St. Martin’s Episcopal School

Nice To Haves

  • Previous soccer coaching or competitive playing experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging, effective practices that strengthen individual skills, teamwork, strategy, conditioning, and overall player development
  • Build a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture that reflects the mission and values of St. Martin’s Episcopal School
  • Inspire student-athletes by teaching and modeling sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, commitment, and respect
  • Help players develop confidence, discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic both on and off the field
  • Prepare athletes to compete successfully through purposeful instruction, thoughtful game preparation, and individual and team development
  • Provide attentive supervision and prioritize student safety during practices, games, travel, and all team activities
  • Develop strong, professional relationships through effective communication with student-athletes, families, coaches, athletic staff, and school leadership
  • Partner with the Athletic Department to advance program goals and support the continued growth of the soccer program
  • Encourage student-athletes to represent themselves, their team, and St. Martin’s with integrity, confidence, and pride
