About The Position

Lipscomb Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bass Fishing Coach to lead and develop our teams for both high school and middle school students. This role involves teaching the fundamentals of competitive bass fishing, ensuring safety on and off the water, and fostering a positive and competitive environment consistent with the mission of Lipscomb Academy.

Requirements

  • Experience in competitive bass fishing.
  • Ability to teach fundamentals of competitive bass fishing.
  • Knowledge of boating safety.
  • Understanding of fish care and sportsmanship.
  • Familiarity with tournament procedures and etiquette.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Availability from September 12 through June 5 and through the National Championship on August 1 (if teams qualify).
  • Ability to model Christ-like behavior and encourage positive character traits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor middle school and high school student anglers in the fundamentals of competitive bass fishing.
  • Teach and reinforce boating safety, fish care, sportsmanship, proper tournament etiquette, and responsible conduct on and off the water.
  • Assist families and student anglers with tournament preparation, scheduling, registration, travel coordination, and other team needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of tournament procedures and ensure students and parents follow all applicable tournament rules, school policies, and team expectations.
  • Communicate consistently with parents, school administration, tournament officials, and team members throughout the season, including full availability from September 12 through June 5 and through the National Championship on August 1, if teams qualify.
  • Model Christ-like behavior and encourage student anglers to demonstrate integrity, respect, humility, service, and sportsmanship in alignment with Lipscomb Academy’s mission.
