The Head Athletic Coach HS (Stipend) is responsible for instructing participants in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary to achieve a high degree of individual and team success. The role also focuses on fostering pride of accomplishment, self-discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship in student athletes. This position serves as the leader and manager for the athletic program, developing practice schedules, coaching players, and ensuring adherence to state, regional, and district regulations. The coach is responsible for establishing behavior standards, supervising athletes, assigning duties to assistant coaches, and maintaining various records. Additionally, the coach works with the Director of Activities and School Equity on scheduling, monitoring academic performance, and communicating with parents and the media. The role also involves promoting the sport, managing equipment, participating in special events, and attending professional development. All DMPS positions require prompt attendance, confidentiality, and satisfactory working relationships. This is a part-time, stipend position.
