The Head Athletic Coach HS (Stipend) is responsible for instructing participants in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The role emphasizes fostering pride, self-discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship in student athletes. This position serves as the leader and manager for the athletic program, developing practice schedules, coaching players, and ensuring adherence to state, regional, and district regulations. The coach is also responsible for maintaining student behavior standards, supervising athletes, assigning duties to assistant coaches, and encouraging participation in the sport. A K-12 program philosophy, including feeder programs, youth camps, and clinics, is to be established. The coach must maintain various records, including eligibility forms, emergency cards, and equipment inventories, and work with the Director of Activities and School Equity on scheduling and policy development. Academic performance of team members is monitored, and communication with parents/guardians, the news media, and booster clubs is expected. The coach must also model sportsman-like behavior, follow district policies, and participate in professional development. Additional responsibilities include prompt attendance, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering positive working relationships.
