This individual is responsible for the screening and intake of voluntary patients and involuntary patients under the Florida Mental Health Act (Baker Act) for admission to the inpatient unit or referral for outpatient services. Responsible for the screening of voluntary and involuntary child and adolescent patients who arrive at HBS seeking services. Completes screening documentation in compliance with hospital, ACHA and Joint Commission standards. Contacts the physician to determine the disposition of the patient and the recommended treatment and services. Provide information about services available at Halifax Behavioral Services to patients/families calling for information and/or refer them to appropriate outside agencies when applicable. Maintains patient confidentiality and is compliant with HIPAA requirements. Interacts positively and effectively with patient, family members and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Attends staff meetings, trainings, in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements. Follows policy and procedures and all regulatory agencies requirements. Compliant with assigned schedule and time and attendance policy. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
