About The Position
Responsible for safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and for patient safety while administering oxygen therapy to patients.
Requirements
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role.
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must have a background as an EMT, PARAMEDIC, LPN, RN or RESPIRATORY THERAPIST
- Up to date on all applicable hyperbaric safety codes
Nice To Haves
- BLS certification preferred
- Up to date training and /or experience in hyperbaric chamber maintenance to include mechanical background where appropriate preferred
Responsibilities
- Arrive at work on time
- Ensure safety of all patients
- At beginning of day (opening) ensure oxygen is turned on
- Ensure all hyperbaric chambers are in working order
- Performs necessary maintenance to systems daily and as needed
- Checks acrylic on all chambers once a month or more as needed
- Maintain accurate records with regard to medical history, hyperbaric treatment and results of each patient session
- Perform pre-dive vitals on all patients
- Perform B lood G lucose (BG ) test pre and post dive for all first-time patients. Thereafter perform BG test on all diabetic patient’s pre-dive and PRN post-dive
- Responsible for knowing all parameters for vital signs
- Responsible for knowing emergency protocols and location of protocols
- Ensure all chambers are powered off at the end of every workday
- Ensure all oxygen is turned off at the end of every workday
- Must maintain up to date knowledge on all applicable hyperbaric safety codes
- Must have working knowledge of decompression procedures
- Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation
- Maintains competencies, continuing education and certifications as appropriate
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment
- Interact effectively with co-workers
- Understand and follow work rules and procedures
- Always maintain a professional and tidy appearance
- Maintain a professional and polite demeanor with all patients.
- Comply with all patient privacy and HIPAA rules
- Assist with other duties as time allows.
