At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture. CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division. We are looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver in Yakima, WA to safely transport bulk fuel and propane to our customer locations. This position has an option of a Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat schedule and is mainly home daily. You may be asked to do some longer routes that could lead to being out a day or two. The ideal candidate would have their Class A CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsements and 2+ years of tractor trailer experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
  • 2+ years of verifiable driving experience.

  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
  • Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Operate a semi-tractor and tanker trailer to deliver hazardous energy-grade materials to customer sites in a safe, compliant manner.
  • Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness.
  • Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
  • Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, coordinate with customers and internal teams.
  • Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; submit maintenance reports and escalate repair needs and equipment issues promptly.
  • Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns; execute required response and reporting procedures.
  • Support related tasks such as equipment hookups, site readiness checks, and assigned duties
