About The Position
The Hazmat Transload Operator is responsible for loading unit trains and manifest rail cars with crude oil, assisting truck haulers with unloading and transloading, ensuring paperwork accuracy, performing general maintenance, and committing to safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Mechanically Inclined
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job-related coursework - this includes, but is not limited to, OSHA, HazMat, and FRA
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Solid work history will be considered in lieu of education
Responsibilities
- Load unit trains and manifest rail cars with crude produced in Trenton, ND, using fixed and mobile loading racks
- Assist crude haulers with unloading their trucks and safely transloading their load into Savage's holding tank system, by hooking up hoses, checking for leaks, and operating the control panel
- Ensure receiving and shipping paperwork is accurate and verified
- Perform general maintenance as well as cleaning, housekeeping, and snow removal
- Commit to safe work practices
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
