Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience working with chemicals, hazardous materials, laboratory operations, or environmental services is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately identify, classify, and document materials.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment while following established safety procedures and utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comfortable performing hands-on work, including material handling, sampling, packaging, and waste management activities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work the assigned schedule and perform all duties on-site.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, sort, and de-pack lab pack materials in a fast-paced industrial hazardous waste processing facility.
  • Apply chemistry knowledge to classify, characterize, and safely manage a wide variety of chemical and hazardous waste streams.
  • Perform bulk consolidations, material transfers, sampling activities, and container management in accordance with environmental regulations and company procedures.
  • Prepare, package, label, and document hazardous waste shipments for transportation, treatment, recycling, and disposal.
  • Complete regulatory documentation and maintain compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and company requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections of work areas, containers, and equipment to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Support spill response activities and contribute to a strong culture of environmental, health, and safety excellence.
