Hazardous Material Shipping Specialist
About The Position
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire a Hazardous Material Shipping Specialist to join the Packaging and Transportation Services (P&TS) organization. The selected candidate will be responsible for interpreting applicable Hazardous Material regulations and DOE requirements to determine proper classification of Hazardous Materials and requirements for compliance in packaging and shipping and may also include classification of HM, selection of containers and transport modes, determination of facility specific packaging and shipping requirements, preparations and approval of shipping papers, verifications of receiver eligibility, verifications of container certifications, certification of regulatory compliance, and release for transportation. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken SC, the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.
