About The Position

We are seeking multiple Mitigation Grant Management professionals to provide project specific services in support of our clients’ and government entities’ mitigation initiatives. The ideal candidates will be dynamic mitigation grant management professionals with a solid understanding of Hazard Mitigation Assistance Programs, benefit cost analysis (BCA), as well as 404 and 406 mitigation programs. Candidates should be experienced in working directly with clients, establishing and meeting goals, and managing multiple projects. Subject matter expertise in hazard mitigation and emerging trends in resiliency are a must.

Requirements

• An in-depth knowledge of disaster related mitigation programs to include the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA), including Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA); and Section 406 Hazard Mitigation.
• High proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite applications, and ability to quickly learn new computer software, programs, and utilize various video conferencing tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated, responsible, and confident with a commitment to integrity.
• Must be detail oriented, very organized, and able to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• A bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, or a related field or, if no degree, must have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in the FEMA Public Assistance grant program and/or FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance program.
• Experience working with Federal, State and Local Governments on the HMA program.
• Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Enhanced background screening may be required by the client.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the coordination of the collection, distribution, and maintenance of HM funding and/or disaster-related information is properly disseminated.
• Serve as a coordinator and liaison to client counterparts regarding the implementation of FEMA mitigation grant programs.
• Write, develop, and/or review Mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with other FEMA programs, such as the Public Assistance mitigation activities under Section 406 of the Stafford Act. Perform the full range of implementation and managing activities for these programs.
• Provide the client with insight and coordination of technical assistance and participate in the coordination of project eligibility through analysis including technical feasibility, cost management, extensions, and project appeals of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) project applications. Present the program and technical requirements to a varied professional audience.
• Provide technical assistance to our clients in support of their HMA Grants’ goals and objectives.
