About The Position
Old South Carriage Company is seeking charismatic storytellers to join their team as Haunted Carriage Tour Guides. This role involves leading guests through the historic streets of downtown Charleston by horse-drawn carriage, sharing ghost stories, legends, and mysterious history. The position offers flexible evening scheduling and the opportunity to work with a team and draft horses.
Requirements
- A confident, engaging personality with a flair for storytelling.
- A passion for history, culture, and working with animals.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- General open availability for giving tours weekly (weekdays and weekends).
- Applicants must be able to stand and balance on board moving vehicle.
- Valid Drivers License
Nice To Haves
- Equestrian experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Lead entertaining and engaging 40-minute haunted carriage tours through historic downtown Charleston.
- Share Charleston's ghost stories, legends, folklore, and fascinating history with guests from around the world.
- Safely drive our beautiful draft horses through the city's historic streets.
- Answer guests' questions about Charleston's history, restaurants, attractions, and local recommendations.
- Deliver a fun, energetic, and memorable experience using your personality, storytelling ability, and stage presence.
