The Haul Unit Operator role involves safely and efficiently transporting materials using haul units, conducting pre-operation inspections, adhering to safety protocols, communicating with team members and supervisors, maintaining accurate records, cross-training on other plant equipment like loaders, skid steers, and water trucks, and assisting with maintenance and production activities including shoveling and equipment cleanup.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
  • Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate haul units to transport materials safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and report any issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials transported.
  • Cross train in other plant equipment such as loaders, skid Steers ,water truck etc.
  • Assist in maintenance and production activities, including shoveling and cleanup of equipment as needed.
