The Haul Unit Operator role involves safely and efficiently transporting materials using haul units, conducting pre-operation inspections, adhering to safety protocols, communicating with team members and supervisors, maintaining accurate records, cross-training on other plant equipment like loaders, skid steers, and water trucks, and assisting with maintenance and production activities including shoveling and equipment cleanup.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
Responsibilities
- Operate haul units to transport materials safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and report any issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of materials transported.
- Cross train in other plant equipment such as loaders, skid Steers ,water truck etc.
- Assist in maintenance and production activities, including shoveling and cleanup of equipment as needed.
