About The Position

At Fort McKay Group of Companies LP, the Haul Truck Operator is responsible for operating equipment safely, productively, and efficiently according to the project scope and work being performed. The operator will also maintain the equipment and comply with all policies and procedures. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment/pre-access testing, and potentially client training and competency assessment.

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of experience operating Caterpillar 777, 785, 789, 793, 797, Komatsu 980 is required
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Retention of a valid class five (5) driver’s license and clean drivers abstract is required - please submit abstract when applying
• Valid CSO or BSO or combination of CSTS and OSSA is required
• Ability to speak, write and read English is required
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

• Oil and Gas industry experience is considered an asset
• College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an asset
• LPS training is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload materials
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck clean
• Comply with all road regulations on site
• Be alert to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
• Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of the equipment
• Report all damage of the equipment to the Team Leader
