About The Position

The Haul Truck Driver loads and unloads materials and delivers them to, from, and within work sites as required. The role operates medium to large trucks between company work sites on private roads and public highways, and requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL). It is an intermediate-level position in a construction/industrial setting, with changing outdoor weather conditions and potentially irregular work hours.

Requirements

• Must possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Must have working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to carry out work activities.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Must have required tools.
• Ability to perform the physical activities and work in the conditions described, including moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium to large trucks to transport materials between company work sites using private roads and public highways.
• Load and unload trucks, using equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
• Secure cargo for transport using rope, blocks, or covers.
• Obtain proper and complete documentation before moving materials.
• Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources and verify instructions and routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and report defects, damage, or needed repairs.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.
• Maintain logs of working hours or vehicle maintenance in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Follow safety and project rules and perform other duties as required.
