About The Position
Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. Position Overview The Non-DoT Quarry Rigid Frame Haul Truck Driver will work hand in hand with the Plant Manager to transport equipment/loads to and from various areas onsite of the plant. The ideal candidate is familiar with heavy load transportation and keeps safety at the forefront.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience
- Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
- Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
- Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
- Knowledge of how the vehicles operate

- Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED but not required
- Working knowledge of asphalt and aggregate production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
- Familiarity with OSHA and MSHA regulations, a plus
Responsibilities
- Transport material to various locations of an active HMA or AGG plant.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Familiarity with heavy transportation
- Understands the complexities of the HMA and AGG industries
- Complete trip tickets and paperwork
- Utilize phone and apps for various aspects of role requirements
- Keeping the vehicle clean and fitting company standards
- Carries out daily preventative maintenance, records, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
- Performs and logs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
