About The Position

This position is responsible for driving a haul truck to transport large rocks to and from specified destinations within a mine site. This role operates on a night shift with a shift differential available. Typical hours during Production are Sunday-Thursday 4:30 PM-4:30 AM, and during Maintenance, hours are Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
  • Must be able to wear a half mask respirator at times and be fit tested. Facial hair is allowed as long as it does not protrude under the respirator seal or interfere with valve function.

Responsibilities

  • Operate haul truck within the mine site in accordance with all applicable safety regulations, specifically, MSHA and Knife River policies.
  • Transport materials safely in varying weather, light and site conditions.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with fellow employees to relay and receive information.
  • Complete Pre and Post operational equipment inspections accurately and legibly.
  • Maintain proper operating levels of the equipment’s fluids, fuel, tire pressures, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe operating cab, including windows, mirrors, seat, and floor.
  • Operate a 2.5” high pressure water hose independently for mobile equipment clean up and wash out duties.
  • Assist with clean up duties at crushing plants, including shoveling, using hand tools, and operating high pressure water hoses.
  • Willingness and ability to work long hours during the production season.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
