Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
  • If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Must regularly pull empty hatchers trays on casters weighing approximately 200 pounds.
  • Must regularly lift dollies weighing 5 pounds.
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop and reach above head.
  • Must be able to obtain scissor lift certification.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
  • Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
  • Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, ear plugs and rubber boots are required.
  • NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.
  • Safety glasses are required.
  • Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies.
  • Team members are expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.
  • These include, but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Team members are expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes the hatchery.
  • Cleans and sanitizes the hatchers and hallways with a pressure washer (25%).
  • Cleans and sanitizes the holding room, box room and approximately 200 dollies weighing up to approximately 5 pounds (25%).
  • Pull approximately 42 buggies of empty hatcher trays weighing approximately 150 pounds back to the hatcher rooms (25%).
  • Must be able to read, write and record data from setters and hatchers every three hours and pull out approximately 36 stacks of 40 chick boxes for the Pull Crew (15%).
  • Properly euthanize weak/ill chicks in accordance with company policy, performing breakouts, data entry into CHS and EDM, washes toughs, occasionally cleans setter tops and helps Pull Crew, when needed (10%).
