About The Position

The Hatchery team member is responsible for operating specialized equipment and performing skilled production tasks within an assigned area to support efficient hatchery operations. This role requires a higher level of responsibility, including equipment operation, verification processes, and adherence to strict safety, quality, and animal welfare standards. All duties must be performed in compliance with Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants may be considered for various semi-skilled roles within hatchery operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate equipment and perform semi-skilled production tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and document processes accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number so the system can verify any previous Tyson employment history.
  • This facility will not accept applicants that have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times.
  • This facility accepts rehires after 365 days. Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor hatchery equipment to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Maintain consistent product flow in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Perform and document verification checks, including vaccine dosage accuracy and proper coverage.
  • Verify chick counts and box counts to ensure accuracy and compliance with production standards.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper chick placement at designated farm locations.
  • Load and unload boxes onto conveyors and transport carts within the chick processing area.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork and production records.
  • Utilize basic math skills to complete calculations and documentation.
  • Safely operate hand tools, machinery, and equipment, including a Moffett (truck-mounted forklift).
  • Read, interpret, and follow written instructions, including vaccine protocols and operating procedures.
  • Identify and report equipment or process issues to leadership.
  • Perform all job duties while maintaining a safe work environment.
