About The Position

Freshwater Hatchery Technician (Koksilah, BC) Cermaq British Columbia is currently looking to fill the full-time, permanent role of a Freshwater Hatchery Technician 3 to our team at Oceans Hatchery (located near Duncan). As an entry-level Hatchery Technician, you would be responsible for checking the operation of different systems as part of an established routine, such as oxygen level monitoring, checklists for different buildings and equipment, supporting other staff when loading fish and various other site-related activities. Requirements

  • Understanding and adherence to hatchery biosecurity, procedures and protocols
  • Able to learn and apply technical procedures
  • Proactive attitude to foresee and solve problems and ability to work as a team member
  • Timely and reliable transportation will be required to travel to the hatchery to respond to alarm calls as needed

  • Prerequisites to hiring are a fitness assessment, reference checks, and a criminal record check
  • Only applicants who are legally allowed to work in Canada will be considered
