About The Position

Monitor Hatchery and equipment; prepare hatchery for processors to perform duties; clean and sanitize hatchery areas and equipment as specified. Other duties may be assigned. The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Only body piercings covered by on-farm clothing are permitted. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
  • Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor building and surrounding grounds for unauthorized entry, vandalism, safety hazards
  • Inspect and monitors equipment (inside/outside) for proper operation
  • Perform simple math as part of manually recording temperature and humidity readings
  • Dispense formaldehyde per schedule
  • Fumigate specified areas of the facility as required
  • Prepare Hatchery for processors by: chick room set up, placing wing bands on tables and mats on floors, set up of chick boxes and scales
  • Maintain and assist with housekeeping standards in the working areas
  • Inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly
  • Sanitation of storage areas, breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles
  • Cleaning incinerators
  • Moving birds, grounds-keeping and organizing breeder tags
  • Properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy
  • Help with farm monitoring
  • Perform janitorial and laundry duties
  • Monitor operation of generator during power failure
  • Maintains foot pans and hand sanitizer
  • Assist with egg sets as needed
