About The Position

This position is responsible for the day to day activities of the hatchery. Planning special projects related to maintaining an excellent hatching environment, ensuring cost effectiveness is maintained and administering personnel policies in a fair and consistent manner. Making weekly projections and seeking outside sources when necessary. Working with Quality Control to ensure proper procedure is followed and that proper cleaning has been done and calculating hatchery mechanical performance and ensuring preventative maintenance is in place. Assisting supervisors in training and day to day dealing with Team Members, working with Hen Growers and Breeder Technicians to ensure the production of high quality eggs. Working with Broiler Growers and Technicians to maintain the ideal environment for chicks. Fumigating and maintaining eggs while in the incubator and arranging for chicks to be delivered to the farm. Performing all other responsibilities as the need arises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1 plus years experience in live poultry environment with Hatchery Supervision preferred
  • Supervisory/leadership experience is required for this position
  • Basic computer skills. For example checking electronic mail entering data into document templates or creating simple queries.
  • Candidate must know how to generate spreadsheets and reporting
  • Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year
  • This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities.
