The Hatchery Maintenance Technician role requires a self-motivated individual capable of reading and writing, willing to work 12-hour shifts, and participate in an on-call rotation. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, a strong team player, and comfortable with climbing ladders and working at various heights. Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures is essential, as is the ability to stand for extended periods and walk on concrete floors. Responsibilities include performing daily preventative maintenance, understanding machinery operation, prioritizing and scheduling jobs based on urgency, and working with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting, locating, and diagnosing equipment problems within the hatchery, maintaining daily repair records, and performing preventative care. Physical demands include stooping, bending on knees, and crawling when necessary. Weekend on-call duty is a requirement.
