About The Position

The harvester removes mushrooms of varying sizes and shapes from the mushroom beds in order to fill customer orders, to provide room for new mushroom growth and to maintain top quality of the product for sale.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow the direction of the Supervisor regarding houses to be harvested, the containers to be filled and etc.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor y management
  • Ensures the mushroom bed surfaces remain in good condition through good harvesting techniques.
  • Maintains all food safety and quality standards by following the Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
  • Stores all harvesting equipment in accordance with Company SOP.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, minimizing stump droppage on the floors, mushroom knockdowns on the beds and safety hazards in the alleys.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.
  • Able to execute tasks that require kneeling, climbing, walking and carrying
  • Ability to store and carry equipment and materials required to perform the duties from one location to another
  • Availability to work 3, 4, or 7 days per week and perform one or all of the following tasks: unloading growing media (bags), harvesting mushrooms from growing beds, placing mushrooms into packaging materials according to daily orders, assisting in cleaning growing areas, complying with all policies and guidelines, and following Good Agricultural Practices.
