About The Position

The Harvest Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily harvesting operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and safe gathering of premium floral and tropical plants. This position works closely with the Harvest Coordinator and Production Department Leads to direct harvesting teams, stage product for production, and uphold Hendriks’ quality and efficiency standards. The role is essential in ensuring customers receive healthy, vibrant plants that meet established specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a greenhouse, nursery, or agricultural production setting preferred.
  • Experience with plant harvesting processes, including handling, staging, and quality control.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and working in warm, humid environments.
  • Ability to motivate, organize, and direct multiple team members to achieve daily harvest goals.
  • Ensures correct product selection, lot tracking, and quality presentation.
  • Works closely with cross-departmental teams to meet production timelines.
  • Balances multiple priorities while maintaining clear records and schedules.
  • Anticipates and addresses harvesting challenges, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Understands and enforces safe handling practices for plants, tools, and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary education in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct harvesting teams, assigning daily tasks and monitoring progress to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Coordinate with Production Department Leads regarding order timing, crop readiness, and upcoming needs.
  • Sort, stage, and label harvested product in designated harvest areas (Driveway Zone02, or as assigned seasonally).
  • Ensure correct product and lot numbers are picked, recorded, and handed in on Daily Harvest Sheets to the Materials Coordinator by end of day.
  • Work closely with Harvest Team Leads to verify product accuracy and adherence to Hendriks harvesting specifications.
  • Organize and prepare incoming harvested products for transfer to Production.
  • Provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship to harvesting team members, supporting skill development and consistent quality.
  • Attend Production Board meetings to align harvesting priorities with production schedules.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with Hendriks Greenhouses’ policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
