About The Position

This posting is for the Harvest Room Labor position which Hangs live birds in a shackle. It is scheduled for 1st Shift. Located after the cage dumper, this is the first chain-driven operation. The live hanger position removes a bird from the hanging belt, by grasping a chicken first by one leg and then the other leg. Once positioned, breast side away from hanger, they will hang the bird by both legs into a shackle. The motion is repeated for the entire shift. The bird weighs 4 – 5 lbs. Team member needs to hang 25 birds per minute.

Responsibilities

• Hang live birds in a shackle.
• Remove a bird from the hanging belt, grasping it by one leg and then the other.
• Position the bird breast side away from the hanger.
• Hang the bird by both legs into a shackle.
• Repeat the hanging motion for the entire shift.
• Hang 25 birds per minute.
