About The Position

This position involves working in low lighting conditions. The employee must be able to reach to a moving conveyor belt at their workstation, grasping live birds weighing from two to over six pounds. The task requires lifting the bird from the belt and placing it onto a suspended moving shackle line conveyor, ensuring both legs of the bird are placed into the shackle. The line speed is approximately 105 birds per minute, requiring the hanging of approximately 27 birds per minute.

Requirements

• Good manipulation required to reach, grasp, lift and hang birds into moving shackles
• Visual monitor shackles to be able to hang approx. every 4th shackle
• Standing majority of shift
• Use required PPE
• Ability to work with others to adhere to Tyson's safety culture
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
