About The Position

This seasonal role involves operating a sugarcane harvester to ensure the safe and efficient handling of equipment while loading wagons and navigating fields. The position requires strict adherence to safety regulations and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Daily visual and mechanical inspections of equipment are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

• Proven capability to operate harvesters efficiently and safely.
• Ability to be focused and be attentive for long hours.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with co-workers.
• Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
• Must be able to work in all positions (overhead, kneeling, reaching, crawling & working in small workspaces).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• 1+ year of farm equipment operating experience, preferred.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Operates sugarcane harvester to perform tasks related to harvesting sugarcane.
• Safely loading wagons alongside harvesters navigating fields.
• Maneuvering harvester to ensure safety near canals, tractors and co-workers.
• Adhering strictly to all safety rules, regulations, or procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Performing basic daily inspections on equipment, both visual and mechanical checks.
• Performing other related projects and assignments as business dictates.
