About The Position

HARNESSING ENGINEER SPECIALIST, SATELLITES (STARLINK) We’re looking for a talented Harnessing Engineer Specialist to develop satellite harnessing designs and drive improvements across electrical and optical wiring products. On the avionics & harnessing engineering team, you will be responsible for releasing satellite harnessing design and drawings, as well as qualifying interconnects and cables across our various satellite configurations. You will work closely with responsible engineers focused on driving new component selections across various bus/power and optical harnessing products and executing on component and subsystem qualification/testing. This role has high exposure across our various satellite vehicle subsystems and befits one who is highly collaborative and motivated to take on challenging work – both hands-on building harnessing products + processes and execute/release detailed wire harness designs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years in professional wire harnessing experience or similar environment, or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field

Nice To Haves

  • 3D CAD harnessing/routing design and drafting experience with Siemens NX or similar software
  • Exposure to electrical/optical harnessing processes and tooling
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Develop and release harness design solutions within a 3D NX CAD environment, adhere to and improve internal design standards and requirements.
  • Work with responsible engineers to generate electrical schematics to support both flight and qualification designs.
  • Perform testing (both mechanical and electrical) of harnessing with respect to thermal, loads, vibration and shock to ensure full qualification for flight
  • Triage non-conforming interconnect products and drive resolution and preventative actions
  • Support development tooling and low-rate manufacturing of new electrical and optical harnessing products.
