As a Harness Technician Sr, you will work hands‐on with space hardware, translating designs into reality, and your skill and attention to detail will translate directly to on‐orbit mission success. Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality and repetitious manner for Spacecraft installation. This role requires the ability to work the Second shift. This position's internal job code is Avionics and Harness Technician Sr. Our team is currently hiring for Grade 24. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. This is a union-represented position. This is an hourly position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721). The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned. New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period. This role is primarily second shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance. Additionally, applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. This position is not contingent upon program award. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high‐reliability field
  • Certification to J‐STD‐001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience using hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components
  • Ability to read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Applicants must pass a soldering and crimping test.
  • Experience working in a clean room
  • Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for work documentation
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced with all MS Office software
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in‐process verify of work. (2PV)
  • 4+ Years of knowledge of various wire harness tools to include manual and pneumatic crimpers is preferred
  • IPC/WHMA‐A‐620 highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Work and take direction from team leader for project completion
  • Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems
  • Cross‐train/mentor new hires
