The Harmony Square Director (HSD) is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood. This role involves conducting interviews, orientation, coaching, and ongoing training of Harmony Square team members in accordance with associate training standards and regulatory guidelines. The HSD supervises and directs Harmony Square team members, including the Harmony Square Life Enrichment Assistant and PCA’s/CNA’s, in conjunction with the Healthcare Director. A key aspect of this role is developing, planning, and implementing purposeful resident programs to enrich the lives of residents and families within the community, as well as through outside trips and events. The HSD partners with the Life Enrichment Director for monthly planning meetings and coordinates with the entire program team to prepare for upcoming programs, organize supplies, and plan calendars, events, and outings. The role requires leading 3-4 high-quality, innovative programs per day and planning weekly outings. Continuous assessment of resident needs in partnership with the community clinical team is crucial, with updates provided to the Healthcare Director and Executive Director regarding care and changes in resident condition, initiating interventions as necessary. The HSD participates in Resident/Family Care Conferences and the Family Call Program as directed by the Executive Director. Building relationships with local community resources, residents, and families is essential to encourage participation and promote high resident and family satisfaction. Maintaining a stimulating environment that promotes safety, security, and overall well-being, in collaboration with the clinical team, is a priority. The HSD also maintains the Behavior Expression process and ensures all aspects of dining are met through partnership with the Director of Dining and Healthcare Director. Completing state-required care plans and service plans for Harmony Square residents in conjunction with the Healthcare Director is also a responsibility. The role involves partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association and other local organizations to schedule, organize, and participate in Support Group meetings monthly. The HSD must complete necessary training and insurance requirements to drive a company vehicle. This position requires leadership skills and the ability to coordinate care across disciplines. Daily and bi-weekly neighborhood rounds are completed, along with leading and organizing daily huddles and attending Monthly Programming calls. Promoting a culture of teamwork and team member appreciation, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all departments, and effectively communicating with resident families by responding to questions/concerns promptly are also key functions. Finally, all required courses must be completed in adherence with state regulations and Relias Learning, with a passion for working with individuals with dementia, and carrying out other duties as assigned.
