Harm Reduction Program Coordinator

About The Position

This position coordinates and supervises operations of the Frederick County Health Department's Street Safe Program in collaboration with Behavioral Health Services personnel who provide a range of services. The coordinator oversees harm reduction programs, including day-to-day operations, staffing, documentation, and supplies, and supervises harm reduction staff, including peer recovery staff and volunteers. This recruitment is limited to current Frederick County Health Department Behavioral Health Services Division employees.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Two years of professional experience assisting in the coordination of health-related programs or referring people to governmental and private resources.
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute qualifying U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in a health-related field on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
Applicants must be current Frederick County Health Department Behavioral Health Services Division employees.

Nice To Haves

Current or prior harm reduction experience.
Current or prior program oversight experience.
Registered Peer Supervisor (RPS) certification.
