About The Position

The System Test Engineer will work in Trimble’s GPS test labs to design and implement qualification verification methods for high-performance navigation receivers. The role supports product quality throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept through end-of-life, and contributes to the accuracy and reliability of technologies used in aviation and inertial navigation systems. This is an in-office position in Sunnyvale, California, with 0–10% travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Hands-on laboratory experience operating signal generators, simulators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python for automated test development and execution.
• Experience with formal documentation, data processing, configuration management, and cross-functional communication.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to obtain, or active status to obtain, a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Prior experience managing inertial navigation system testing or complex data manipulation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and release of advanced test stations, automated procedures, and diagnostic scenarios.
• Analyze system behavior under complex operating conditions to improve test efficiency and product performance.
• Author, maintain, and manage test plans, procedures, and formal qualification reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support products from proposal through design validation and field sustainability.
