About The Position

Applied Intuition is looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join their Compute Hardware team. The role involves validating automotive-grade PCB designs through board-level testing, automating lab workflows, and supporting early prototype hardware characterization. This position offers significant learning opportunities due to the design and testing of next-generation boards and hardware solutions for diverse industries. The hardware team is small and nimble, providing opportunities for each Electrical Engineer to own significant projects and contribute to others. The role also involves extensive vehicle-level builds, offering chances to own system-level testing and validation for complex software-defined vehicle builds and SDS builds. The team focuses on building infotainment, ADAS, and controller units for software-defined vehicles, contributing to an industry-wide transition.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 2–6 years of hands-on experience in board-level testing and validation
  • Comfortable working in a lab setting with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, etc.)
  • Familiar with thermal, structural, and electrical stress testing
  • Experience with test automation (Python, LabView, or similar)
  • Familiarity with vehicle or consumer electronics validation flows
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Prior exposure to automotive/agriculture/construction/defense OEM or Tier 1 supplier test protocols
  • Comfortable reading schematics and debugging at component level

Responsibilities

  • Execute and improve validation test plans for custom automotive PCBs
  • Characterize board performance using lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, electronic loads, DAQ, etc.)
  • Automate lab equipment and test routines using Python or similar scripting languages
  • Analyze and document results in clear, concise reports for internal teams and external customers
  • Collaborate with electrical design, system integration, and software teams to support board bring-up and root cause analysis
  • Interpret and follow OEM test protocols (e.g., LV124, ISO 16750, CISPR, etc.)
  • Maintain lab setups and improve test efficiency with reusable infrastructure
