Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in consumer electronics products, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with board design, schematics capture tools, signal integrity and layout review.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience with design for manufacturability, scaling and prototype bring-up in house or onsite at a JDM partner.
  • 3 years of experience in debugging/mitigating EMI and ESD problems.
  • 3 years of experience in the lab with some soldering, familiarity using MIPI analyzers, power supplies and data acquisition.
  • Experience with Analog/Digital systems, audio, and wireless system integration (WiFi/BT).
  • Experience with EE SoC or MCU based design for constrained form factors like AR glasses and other wearable devices and with SOC/MCU selection, PMIC, integrating Camera, Display, and Sensor systems.
  • Proficiency in communication protocols (USB-C).

Responsibilities

  • Gather system requirements for product management and cross-functional teams, define architecture, and execute hardware design for next generation Augmented Reality (AR) glasses.
  • Execute hardware system development from initial concept through schematics/PCB layout, bring up, debug and support high-volume production.
  • Lead debug and root cause analysis of complex hardware issues during bring up and scaling.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Hardware, Firmware, Software, Power, Mechanical, Thermal, Validation, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing, and external vendors to ensure system integration meeting quality and schedule.
  • Partner closely with firmware/software developers to support the development and integration of firmware/software for SoC and embedded microcontrollers.
